Palmetto Industrial Services, Inc. is committed to protecting the personal safety and health of each and every employee.  In an effort to reduce the number of work-related injuries and illnesses to an absolute minimum, Palmetto has developed and implemented a Safety Process that is evergreen.  The Safety Process is designed to maintain the safety and health of our employees and clients.  It also conforms to the best practices of organizations of this type and adheres to OSHA, MSHA and other regulatory requirements.  The Safety Process is frequently reviewed and may be enhanced to make improvements.  Our Safety Process includes but is not limited to:


  • Elimination of hazards through the use of engineering and administrative controls       
  • Developing and implementing all necessary written safety policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Providing and requiring the use of necessary personal protective equipment
  • Training frequently to ensure that all employees understand and utilize good safety and health practices
  • Conducting routine safety and health assessments to identify and eliminate unsafe working conditions or practices, to control health hazards, and to comply with occupational safety and health standards for every job
  • Investigating promptly and thoroughly every incident to determine causation and then implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
  • Establishing a system of recognition and awards for outstanding safety performance.


Of primary importance to Palmetto Industrial Services is our employees, our most valuable resource. Our employees play a key role in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the safety and health program and, on a daily basis, make critical decisions concerning safety. Employees are encouraged to participate in hazard assessment, job hazard analysis, safety and health training, and in the evaluation of programs and procedures.
